California’s older adult population is projected to diversify and grow faster than other age groups. By 2030, nearly 10 million Californians will be an older adult, about 25% of the state’s population. Recognizing these significant demographic shifts, Governor Gavin Newsom issued an executive order calling for the creation of a Master Plan for Aging (MPA). California’s MPA is a 10-year blueprint that reflects California’s vision of and commitment to an age- and ability-forward state.
California’s Master Plan for Aging outlines Five Bold Goals to pursue to build a state for all ages and abilities by 2030. The MPA Data Dashboard provides a set of indicators to measure the progress of the MPA. In collaboration with the California Aging and Disability Research Partnership, the MPA Data Dashboard includes a set of key outcomes to track MPA-related impacts on priority topics that impact older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers.
